Zuleikha Robinson becomes new ‘Lost’ regular

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Lost
s Ajira Airways Flight 316 yielded some strange but important passengers. While Caesar, the de facto leader, turned out to just be a man out of his league (he was killed by Ben shortly after the plane crash), it was the mysterious Ilana that seemed to really be in control. Along with Bram, played by Brad William Henke, Ilana led a group of survivors who seemed to be working for Jacob, and had been working for Jacob for quite some time.

Ilana was last seen dumping the real Locke’s body out of a crate and onto the beach, revealing the prescence of Jacob’s nemesis to Richard Alpert and the rest of the others.

We’ll be seeing plenty more of Ilana next year — DarkUFO has recently confirmed that actress Zuleikha Robinson, who portrays Ilana, has been promoted to a series regular for the sixth and final season on the series. This is great news, mostly because we’ll get to find out why Ilana was so bandaged up during that visit with Jacob, how she knew Jacob before, and how she came to work for him.

I’m very excited by this new development. Robinson is the third new confirmed regular for the sixth season; Nestor Carbonell (Other Richard Alpert) was the first, and Jeff Fahey, who plays  pilot Frank Lapidus, was the second.

LOST – The John Hughes Edition?

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Is LOST planning an homage to John Hughes?  The ever vigilant Ryan from TheTransmission passed on some details regarding a day of shooting that, among other things, suggested: Mario Van Pebbles onset as a guest director or producer; fan favorites Locke and Ben possibly taking on the role of substitute teachers; second stringers Alex Rousseau and Leslie Arzt; and, Ryan has exclusively revealed to us the identity of a certain William Atherton’s character.  Anyway you slice the scoops, one thing is clear:  this episode of LOST is high-school centric.

Atherton’s appearance on LOST was first revealed through some teasing tweets from LOST executive producer Carlton Cuse, and we now know he will be playing the part of Principal Reynolds.   Tell me this guy wasn’t born to play a bad ass principal.  Arzt, as you will recall, was a junior high science teacher so it appears we will see him back in his role, and I guess Alex will be … a student?  Wild stretch, I know.  The big question is, though, why is LOST apparently having a teenage moment?

Could it be Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have thrown together an homage to Hughes’s legendary fables of teen angst?  Ben taking a nod as Ben Stein’s iconic ‘economics teacher’ from Ferris Bueller’s day off.  “Rousseau? Rousseau? Rousseau?”  Atherton delivering a demonic take on ‘Dick’ Vernon from The Breakfast club, maybe?   Arzt doing his typical ‘Weird Science.’

As far as the Van Peebles news, that’s not nearly as left field as the recent suggestion that 24 maestro Jon Cassar will be directing an episode.

William Atherton to Guest Star on Lost

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Typically, it’s more difficult to get information out of Lost producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse than the Department of Defense.

But the duo has been a bit more open over the last few weeks, as the most fascinating show on television inches toward its final season. We have a pretty good idea, for example, which former stars will return next year.

Now, we can confirm that William Atherton will guest star on the show.

The actor has appeared on a number of shows, such as Life, Numb3rs and Desperate Housewives.

As for what character he’ll play on Lost, come on. You didn’t think Lindelof and Cuse would reveal that information, did you?

Shannon Brought Back to ‘Lost’

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

It looks like the last season of “Lost” will be one big reunion. TV Guide Magazine’s William Keck has just reported that Maggie Grace aka Shannon Rutherford will be reporting to duty next month in Oahu, Hawaii where the show has been filming. The filming of her part reportedly will be “top-secret”.

Shannon is the stepsister of Boone (Ian Somerhalder) who was entangled in a romantic relationship with Sayid. She was accidentally shot by Ana Lucia in the first half of the second season. Curiously, her picture was included in the sixth season poster released at D23 Expo in September along with other fallen characters.

Indeed, Somerhalder has confirmed that his character will be back to life. Similarly, Dominic Monaghan will reprise his role as Charlie Pace who was last seen drown in a flooded bunker. Producers of “Lost” actually had been trying to get Grace back on the saddle but the actress had a cramped schedule that she wasn’t able to squeeze in the show. “I’m hearing Shannon may be cut into an episode shot earlier this fall with brother Boone,” Keck wrote.

The highly anticipated sixth and final season of “Lost” is slated to begin in January 2010. But there are rumors that the show will take a break in February to give Winter Olympics a room, and return in March.

Lost: Katey Sagal’s Flying Back to the Island

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Locke better suit up for a reunion of some sort.

Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse confirmed to TV Guide Magazine that Katey Sagal is returning to the show’s final season–a stark departure, perhaps, when you think that the character she plays, Helen Norwood, is supposedly dead already.  Then again, this is Lost, and death is, well…

As always, he isn’t revealing much about who else is returning, but he’s also confirmed that Ian Somerhalder–currently anchored at the CW’s Vampire Diaries–has just shot his return scene as Boone.  And he isn’t speaking up on Harold Perrineau’s return to the show.  “I cannot yet confirm or deny whether he will be back on the show this year,” he said.

Another former cast member who wants back?  Julie Bowen, also known as Jack’s former wife.  “What’s stopping you?” she told Cuse in jest when they met up at a fundraiser.  And she’s got a possible scenario in her head, too: “The last time you saw Sarah, she was pregnant with another man’s child.  But I would pitch that it was actually Jack’s baby and Jack’s found out and it’s somehow important to whatever is happening on the island.”

Something always has to be up, it seems.

Lost: Casting for Teenage Boy

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Will Lost fans meet a teenage Sawyer on season six?

According to a network casting notice, the ABC hit is seeking a Caucasian actor between the age of 12 and 14 to portray…

Teenage Boy: Sporting dirty blond hair and intense searching eyes, he’s wise beyond his years. He finds himself having to deal with a horrible family accident. Recurring.

Is there any doubt that this character will be a younger version of Sawyer?

Lost – Lost finds its Lennon!

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

John Hawkes is joining the final season of “Lost” as a recurring.

The “Deadwood” alum will play Lennon, the scruffy, edgy and charismatic spokesperson and translator for the president of a foreign corporation who is far more powerful than it seems from his position.

Hawkes, who played budding entrepreneur and politician Sol Star on David Milch’s Western “Deadwood,” recently co-starred on another HBO series, the offbeat comedy “Eastbound & Down.”

His feature credits include “American Gangster” and “Miami Vice.”

Hawkes is repped by Innovative and Thruline.

Mr. Eko Might Return to Lost

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Charlie. Claire. Boone. Faraday.

A handful of characters will return for the sixth and final season of Lost. But there’s one name we never expected to find on that list: Mr. Eko.

After all, reports from season two of the show indicated that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje pretty much voted himself off the island back in the day.

But in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor said “fans of Eko should have hope [for a return.”

He said he “loved playing that character,” adding:

“I’m here for them. Adewale is open for business. We have had talks about some things they might do for the final season and there are other dead folks coming back allegedly, but at the moment it is still a maybe. A strong maybe, but I have not shot anything yet or signed any contracts. But I’m hoping.”

Our best guess: keep hoping, Adewale. It’s hard to envision a scenario in which Eko returns to Lost.

Lost: Greg Grunberg to appear?

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

It might be a busy season for Grunberg, who has also been approached about appearing on Lost. The actor, who played pilot Seth Norris of Oceanic flight 815 in the very first episode, got a call about coming back for the last season of the hit ABC show. Grunberg is totally game for anything the Lost producers can cook up for him, but he has no idea what they are planning. “That’s literally where my call ended,” he says.

Norris didn’t survive the island, but as more of Lost’s characters who met the grim reaper are signing on to appear one last time, it would only be appropriate to bring back the man who flew them to the island in the first place. “If NBC will allow it,” Grunberg says. “I will go back.”
