Matthew Fox was never intended to be a “Lost” regular – producers of the hit TV show planned to kill off his character in the second episode. The actor has become a familiar face on TV screens over the last few years, playing Dr. Jack Shephard in six seasons of the mystery drama.

But Fox admits the show’s creators originally had very different plans for his character. He says, “Damon Lindelof and J.J. Abrams thought it would be cool to set Jack up as the hero, and then kill him off in the second episode. But various people told them they thought this would be a bad idea.”
If Matthew Fox’s character in the TV series is killed, it is likely suitable with his plan which he recently revealed. The 43-year-old actor told Us Magazine that he wants to leave small screen, saying “I won’t be doing any more television. I’ve done two six-year shows, about 300 hours of television.”
He gushed, “I’m done with that. I’m either going to make movies with filmmakers I want to work with or I’ll be doing something else entirely.”
Cynthia Watros, the dearly departed Libby on ‘Lost,’ is leaving Hurley for Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard). Watros will be appearing in a recurring role on ‘House,’ playing one of Wilson’s many ex-wives. In fact, not only is she playing Wilson’s very first ex-wife, but it looks like they’ll be rekindling their relationship.

Watros is set to appear on several episodes, so it appears as though House (Hugh Laurie) doesn’t chase her off right away. Of course, she probably became intimately acquainted with House during her marriage to Wilson, so his antics can’t be anything that new to her. Regardless, it takes a brave woman to step back into that minefield — especially now that House and Wilson are roommates. He kind of makes the Smoke Monster look like a gentle breeze.
We haven’t seen Wilson in a real relationship since Cutthroat Bitch (Anne Dudek) died, and since I don’t think House said “yes” to Wilson’s recent proposal, it seems like a good time to have him fall in love again. What do you think? Do you want to see Wilson with his ex, or should he really just focus on his true soul-mate, House?
Backing up Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof’s statement during “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” about the end of “Lost“, ABC President Stephen McPherson announced on Wednesday, February 3 that the last episode of season 6 will air on Sunday, May 23. The sci-fi series will wrap up in a two-hour finale starting at 8/7c.
“Lost” kicked off the sixth and final season on Tuesday also with a two-hour event. It absorbed 12.1 million viewers and dominated adults-18-to-49 demographic between 9/8c to 11/10c. It was ABC’s best two-hour performance since November 2007.
” ‘Lost’ is an example of what happens when you put creativity above everything else, trust the creative vision, and take the risks required to be truly original,” McPherson said in a statement. “It’s a testament to staying true to the creative vision of one of the most iconic shows ever on television, and we’re giving the producers an unprecedented opportunity to respect the fans and really satisfy the viewers with a spectacular conclusion.”
Cuse and Lindelof promised that the end of the series will be a real ending with no cliffhanger whatsoever. “It’s not like we’re leaving anything that we were going to resolve left unresolved so that people can go see it in a movie theater,” Lindelof told MTV.
“Lost” officially kicked off the final season on Tuesday, February 2 with the resurrection of Sayid in the Temple Tantrum that terrified the Others. Next week, it looks like Sawyer manages to escape from the Others and Kate goes after him. ABC has not released its synopsis, but it seems Kate and Sawyer will exchange words about ‘caring for each other’. “What Kate Does” airs on Tuesday, February 9.

Creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse recently answered a few questions from People including about the dynamic between Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet. Cuse said, “The romantic quadrangle with Jack, Sawyer, Kate and Juliet will be resolved,” while Lindelof said, “Come on, we can’t give you a spoiler about the end of the entire series! First off, you might be making an improper inference by asking, ‘Is she gonna CHOOSE between Jack and Sawyer.’ What if one of those guys doesn’t want her?”
In another question, the writing duo responded to why they are bringing back dead characters. “That’s something that the two of us as viewers and lovers of television really like,” Cuse explained. “It’s fun when you get to see some of your favorite characters come back – like George Clooney [on the end of 'ER']. We’ve got some fun ways in which a lot of our returning fan favorites will be interacting with our characters in this new incarnation.”
When “Lost” wraps up the sixth season this summer, it would be the last fans would see Matthew Fox on television. The actor has spread the word that he is not returning to the small screen because he would like to focus on feature films, theater, work behind the scene and family.

“I won’t be doing any more television,” the actor told Us Magazine at the special screening of “Lost” in Waikiki Beach, Saturday, January 30. He added, “I’ve done two six-year shows, about 300 hours of television. I’m done with that.” In fact, Fox is thrilled that “Lost” is finally over. He told Britain’s Live magazine, “I want a new life – I am thrilled Lost is finally over. I’ve spent five years as Dr. Jack Shepherd.”
Where he would go next, Fox, who made his big break in “Part of Five”, said, “I’m either going to make movies with filmmakers I want to work with or I’ll be doing something else entirely.”
Beside career, the 43-year-old would also like to dedicate his time to his family. “My family will move to Oregon, back to the country I love,” the actor who juggled between Hawaii and L.A. said. “I miss the four seasons climate. We’re building a house up there and I’ll be closer to my brothers and my mother. Our kids will be closer to their first cousins.”
Despite ditching television, he admitted that Hawaii and “Lost” hold a special place in his heart. “It’s made my name and made me famous all over the world. I’ve won awards for it and it’s possibly the best TV series that has ever been made, but nothing beats leaping back into the unknown. Filming the very last show was a mix of sadness and pure exhilaration for me,” he concluded.
“Lost” begins season 6 tonight, February 2 on ABC.
As promised by creator Carlton Cuse, “Lost” unveils a new promo that actually contains a new footage from the sixth season. The teaser opens with Locke telling Sawyer “What if I told you that I could answer the most important question in the world?” Sawyer responded, “And what question is that?” Locke answered, “Why are you on this island.”

The teaser was aired on Sunday, January 31 during the telecast of “Desperate Housewives“. It actually is the second look of the new season for back on Friday, January 29, the first four minutes of the season were leaked after some lucky fans got a hold of the footage as a prize.
Previously, ABC and the “Lost” team were extremely quiet and secretive about the new season which will serve as the conclusion of the whole island’s mystery. “We’re in total blackout mode,” Cuse stated the reason why they wanted to keep things under wrap. “We want the audience to experience the premiere cold.”
The cast came out to Waikiki Beach on Saturday to celebrate the final season’s premiere. Weighing in on what to expect from the show, Daniel Dae Kim who plays Jin Kwon said, “Longtime watchers of the show will be pretty satisfied with a lot of the answers. Some come out fairly early.”
“Lost” will make an impact starting this Tuesday.
Producer slash creator of “Lost” Carlton Cuse said on Wednesday, January 27 that they will finally unveil a promo which contains footage from the upcoming season 6. “For those who want to see it, the first promo on ABC with new season 6 footage will air on Sunday in ‘Desperate Housewives‘,” he announced via Twitter.

Previously, ABC and the “Lost” team were extremely quiet and secretive about the new season which will serve as the conclusion of the whole island’s mystery. They only let out some promos which compiled scenes from the last five seasons. It was only earlier this week that they dropped a teaser which slips a glimpse of Claire returning to the show.
“We’re in total blackout mode,” Cuse stated the reason why they want to keep things under wrap. “We want the audience to experience the premiere cold.”
“Lost” will be premiered for two hours on Tuesday, February 2. But before that, there will be a screening of the first hour this Saturday, January 30 in Wakiki beach, Hawaii. “For those who asked, the Waikiki beach screening is free and open to all,” Cuse announced.
ABC has released the third and final Lost promotional photo based around Da Vinci’s iconic painting of Jesus and his Apostles at dinner.
Fans have been studying the first two pictures in detail, trying to determine differences between them that might offer clues about season six. (This is what we’re left to do when producers offer so few Lost spoilers. Damn them!)
In the third, below, no one has switched positions. But a few actions are different: Richard is pouring a drink for Claire; Sawyer has turned his head away from Locke; Hurley is looking toward the sky.

This should get us a bit more jumpy next week.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Titus Welliver, also known as the “man in black” on the last season finale of Lost, is returning to this season, which kicks off on February 2.
Expect an exploration on that little rivalry between him and Jacob–that centuries-long search for a loophole to commit murder, which ended when the nemesis assumed Locke’s body and convinced Ben to kill Jacob. Expect the two to reunite, too, since Mark Pellegrino’s also returning to Lost, as he’s confirmed months before. Reports state he’s doing at least six episodes.
Seems they’re making the most out of the everything-goes-back-in-time plot point we’ve been expecting to see this year. But not really. Surely you’ve seen ABC sneak in new footage from this season on their latest promo, of Claire taking on Rousseau by, err, being Rousseau, or at least Rousseau-like?
